How Yoga Has Changed My Life

Last August, I was asked to join the team at Yogatown on Preston –  I was awestruck to teach at this beautiful yoga studio for the first class since I became a teacher! When you walk into a space as a student over a hundred times over the course of 3 years and suddenly you walk in as the teacher, it leaves an impression.  For Yogatown’s website on my Bio and About page I was asked the question “How has yoga changed my life”  I had to take pause and reflect. “Great question” was my first thought! Here was my answer.

The most significant effects of yoga on my life have been on the connection of mind, body and spirit.

In a world with so much disconnection and distraction, the physical practice of yoga keeps me connected to my body thereby allowing me to feel more connected to the world around me. With one deep inhale and exhale I can often bring myself back into the present moment – breath is magical that way! I love being physical and I also love meditation so the moving meditation of yoga is really a perfect blend.  Yoga calms me, gives me more energy and has facilitated my physical strength.  Yoga is and will forever remain one of my greatest loves.
